Translations and AI in Israel

Lichi Translations in Israel is an advanced user of AI tools for translations.
We know when these can benefit the task – and when they’re redundant. The key factor is to apply experience and common sense so that you get authentic content while still being efficient.

The AI dilemma

It’s natural to want fast results and to reduce the costs of translations. That’s the appeal of AI bots. They’ll give you a reasonable version of Chinese (or any other language). The big question must be: “Is ‘reasonable’ good enough for you?”

When Chinese people get your text, will they notice that it wasn’t written by a native Chinese speaker? Will it cause you to lose face? Many businesses prefer not to take that risk.

Guidelines to success

If you’re going to seek professional help, what can help you succeed? Firstly, ensure that you connect with an experienced translation agency that has a wide network of skilled translators. They must own their local culture and be inspired writers.

Secondly, check that the agency has a deep understanding of how AI can significantly improve the whole translation production process (and where people fit in). Lichi Translations has both assets.

Where machines score

We’ve been involved with Machine Translation for a few years, since we started using the CAT tool. That was well before Open AI. On the CAT platform we translate, store and save all of an organization’s translations – including the special glossary of technical terms.

The platform also keeps all documents secure since it’s confidential and protected by API. Equipped with this constantly evolving technology, we’ve gained the agility to undertake challenging jobs that once would have been beyond our reach.

Two notable examples
Leading law firm

They asked us to translate 600 pages of a legal document from Hebrew into Japanese within two weeks.

Firstly, we used our CAT tool to apply machine translation. Then our team of expert Japanese translators checked every sentence, corrected legal nuances and fine-tuned the terminology.

Without the AI driven solution, it would have been impossible to complete this project in time.

International medical device company

We translated their user manual from English into Arabic and Hebrew.

Our CAT platform with its AI-driven translation function helped us dramatically cut production time.

We completed the job within 10 days instead of the conventional 30 days. We also passed on a 25% saving of the original translation cost.
